Christopher Ulrich
The Fourth Enochian Key

Billy Shire Fine Arts is proud to present new work by Christopher Ulrich,"The Fourth Enochian Key," featuring large-scale oil paintings, and a series of drawings that journey down the proverbial dream hole. The center piece of this exhibition is a three-by-six-foot, oil painting that had to be completely reconstructed after an accident left it in tatters. Ulrich seized the opportunity to enlarge the originally three-by-four-foot sized canvas, furiously repairing and repainting the entire work from scratch.

"These works represent an alchemical recipe designed to invoke the opening of a new chapter. The titles when read all together form a sentence, or invocation. The images themselves are philosophical riddles that contain what is to be summoned. They are the new keys that return to the self, and if successful, usher into Illuminator, the next series." - Christopher Ulrich.

The exhibition will be on display from June 13th through July 4th, 2009. The Gallery is open Thursday - Saturday 12:00pm - 6:00pm. The opening reception will take place on June 13th, 2009 7:00 - 10:00pm.

This will be Christopher Ulrich's first exhibit at Billy Shire Fine Arts. Ulrich is a painter of surreal iconographic images. He is influenced by the richness of ancient mythology, the mystery of alchemy, and the vastness of cosmic reality. Illuminating this dark journey with insight, heart and determination he strives to understand the unraveling revelation that reveals itself in the work.

Billy Shire Fine Arts will also have his book, Demoneater, available for purchase.
